I haven’t used it much in the series, but I like the idea of Base being a universal language that everyone uses while each race would also still have their own native language. Almost all the dialog in the series is Base (translated to English for readers, of course), but in this case, the Tedeskians are reverting to their own language specifically to plan their next move without Ril understanding what they’re saying.
Naughty Sean. You’re keeping the translation from us to keep us in suspense like Ril! 😉
I roughly remembered you using a native language somewhere in volume one. I did find it, but had forgotten that you also provided the translation. I liked that method, but understand why you left it out here.
Another trigger to visit volume one: bluffing! Ril saw through someone’s bluffing in volume one. Let’s see how things will works out for him.
Turnabout is fair play. ?
Yup! Good memory. I had used the alien language translation with the Jondhi in Volume 1. I think I got the idea from a non-zombie Robert Kirkman comic, which I thought worked really well. I haven’t really used that again since, but maybe it’ll come in handy again at some point.
I think Ril is entirely capable of it. He also put on a suit to do it which is a hassle.
So the question is how hardcore is Sean prepared to be and if Tedeskians pop or just boil out and freeze when Sean threatens his readers with a good time. XD
Mwah ha ha!!!
