Creating a comic takes a LOT of time, especially when it’s a detailed and design-heavy sci-fi book like Runners. But I also need to make a living, so in the past, I took on other comic and freelance work. Now I’m trying to cut back on that to focus more on Runners, and I’m hoping fans of the series will help by supporting the project on Patreon. The more support I get means the less freelance I need to take, which means the more Runners I can produce!

You’ll be supporting the completion of a long, meticulously thought-out narrative with a universe of characters and events to get invested in. My dream is to create a truly epic adventure story full of compelling characters, humor, action, and amazing visuals. And I hope you’ll consider the existence of that type of work something worth supporting.

Exclusive Rewards

For your patronage, you’ll get lots of bonus content unavailable elsewhere. While the actual comic will continue to post for free here at, Patreon supporters will have access to more behind-the-scenes content, including:

  • Early access to higher-resolution comic pages
  • All pages in penciled and inked stages
  • Select colored pages in fully-layered PSD format
  • Sketchbook pages featuring concept designs for aliens, costumes, props, ships, space stations, and props, along with commentary
  • Stories in script form
  • Coloring pages, stickers, and more!

NOTE: I’m initially doing a soft launch strictly as donations at the $1, $5, and $10 levels as I do pre-production work for Volume 3. Once Vol 3 pages start posting in late 2020, I will update the Patreon page with all the actual ongoing tiers and rewards. In the meantime, you’re welcome to support the series at the three donation levels, but look for the full rewards to start later in 2020.

Why Patreon?

Kickstarter is great platform for funding the print run of a single book, but Patreon may be the best way to fund the ongoing creation of the SERIES ITSELF. If I can count on regular funding support through Patreon, I can put more time and effort into making the project long-term. So hopefully, if people really enjoy Runners, they’ll see Patreon as the best way to make sure they keep getting it without significant delays or interruptions.

How Does Patreon Work?

Once you create an account, you can become a patron at any reward tier. Each month, you’ll be charged that amount, but you can change tiers or cancel altogether at any time. For your support, you’ll get access to Runners-related content exclusive to Patreon backers. Plus, you’ll be helping to make Runners possible!

I have put a LOT of work into developing Runners over the years, and I am truly excited to have a possible route to get the series done through funding support on Patreon. I hope you’ll join me in the adventure!
