Hooray!!! RUNNERS is back!! And thank you all so much for your patience the past few months.
It’s been a trying year so far, to say the least. As I mentioned previously, on January 1, my mom had a stroke and unfortunately was not found for several hours, so it ended up running its course and doing significant damage. Since then, I’ve been living with my brother in Georgia, helping to get my mom placed into rehab and then assisted living, while also taking over her financials and bills. We’re still navigating our way forward and hoping for more physical improvement, but we’ve also reached a current level of status quo where I found it reasonable to finally return home and try to get back to normal life.
All the while, I did still have other freelance work, which took up quite a bit of the time that I wasn’t spending on family matters. And I did still find some time for RUNNERS, but not nearly as much as I would have liked.
Anyway, I am still in the process of getting pages finished (and am surprisingly already feeling rusty on all the behind-the-scenes processes), but I hope to get fully back into the swing of things quickly. In the meantime, I didn’t want to keep people waiting any longer, so I am going ahead with new page posts now, starting with the cover to Chapter 5!
This was actually not the original cover I had planned, but I ended up liking it quite a bit as something different from the usual. I am going to be doing a process post on the making of the cover and will have that over on my Patreon as a FREE post for everyone. I’ll provide a link in the commentary once that’s up.
As for the future, I am hoping to have the rest of this volume post without any other significant delays. Due to the backlog of work, I may have some short breaks here and there, especially early on as I get caught up. But as I get up to speed, I should have enough banked pages to prevent any major hiatuses like this last one.
Thanks again, everyone, and welcome back. It’s on!!
My friend had a stroke a few years ago but luckily the EMTs got to him in time that he’s still able to live in his own home. He still has other issues he dealt with but I’m sorry your mom did fare as well. Glad to see you back in action though and hopefully things improve.
Wonderful cover! And I’m glad everything is fine, now.
Welcome Back Sean!
Glad to read that things are better.
On with the show!
