I don’t think I’ve seen something like this in any sci-fi series that I’ve read or watched, so I thought it would be fun to do here. Basically, it’s a sci-fi ship equivalent of blanks used in guns during military exercises. Since this is a demonstration between “friendly” forces, it makes sense for some of the participating ships to be rigged with non-lethal weapons, used just for show. Luckily for Hiura, the closest ships to them were two such vessels.
