Interestingly, this entire sequence has had very little dialog from the Brimia crew. It’s almost all conversation and exposition from Goshen, Clem, and Keyla. Now that I think about it, that’s precisely why I added Ril’s line to Roka on Page 3 about the operation being pretty smart. I felt that the scene was a whole lot of talking but very little interaction with the crew, either verbally or physically. So I added Ril’s line to remedy that to a very small degree, just to break up Goshen long stretch of dialog. But it’s just enough to work for me and for the scene. I figure Ril’s comment is precisely something he would think and say at that moment, but otherwise, the crew would believably just shut up and listen to the discussion going on around them since they’re finally starting to get some answers.
“Interesting” reaction from a guy who was all pissed off a few panels ago.
Although our heroes are mere observers on these pages, the intrigue is very much present.
Another snow job waiting around the corner? Let’s wait and see…
I wonder why Keyla cares so much about the drug. Could she be addicted as well????
My thought is that she sees it as a source of income for the tribe, a source of strength, to the dismay of her traditionalist father.
Or that they could buy a new homeworld that is not so cold. She dreams of a planet of tropical beaches and shopping for swimwear.
Oh yeah, what ever happened to Bocce?
He’s the animal person of the gang, I assume he is trying to upstage Cember; last we saw him he was packing dogs.
It would be somewhat awesome if he came to the rescue riding on wolfback, dual-wielding repeating blasters. Then a stray bolt hits a yak full of crush and the thing explodes with the overused death star explosion stock effect and Bocce, not knowing the thing is loaded of crush, is all full of himself because he is so awesome that he can make a yak explode.
Ha ha, YES!
I think I may have to tap you as the new RUNNERS writer. That would be awesome. 🙂
Will this lead to a Runners bootleg comic or What If Exxos Wrote Runners issue?
In which case the whole thing goes recursive. Don’t be surprised if the exploded yak is brimming with Runners bootleg issues!
