Another characteristic of Bocce is that he slips into a berserker fight mode in combat, which I tried to show just in the artwork of the past two books, but I don’t know if I ever really properly conveyed it. So I felt the need to have Sky specifically call it out here. I just meant to call attention to it but had no other plans for it in this arc, but in bringing it up, Bocce’s story morphed into a mini-arc in the story in which he actively struggles with it.
With Sky, I’m not sure I ever clearly conveyed that her personality changes with her form. She’s more reserved in blue form and more outgoing when shiny. Again, I tied to just show that in the last two books but I’m not sure how clearly it came across, so I decided to specifically call that out here as well.
One might say she’s *reflecting* on herself right now.
Indeed, and that will help her to shine in the future.
Sky’s personality change when reminds me of She-Hulk.
I don’t know how she’s written these days, but it was interesting how she preferred not to transform back into her human form.
Bocce’s berserker mode wasn’t obvious to me until the physical fight in the Snow Job, but it’s nice that it’s subtle.
The dialogue here and in the previous stories helped me to understand how these two act different in certain situations. We don’t get to see everything off panel so it’s good to have them call each other out on these differences.
If normal Sky had a bit more of shiny Sky’s confidence and shiny Sky had a bit more of normal Sky’s control she’d be perfect. I did catch the more aggressive nature of Sky’s shiny form in book 2.
Awesome! Glad to hear some of their personality traits are coming through in the stories. Along those lines, I also feel the need to point out, in case it wasn’t clear, that Ril is kind of a jerk. Ha ha.
