This was a fun scene to write, especially knowing who Jayd is and what she’s doing there. I like that she’s trying to sound like she’s just making conversation and getting to know everyone out of pleasant curiosity, but she’s actually fishing, trying to see what they’ll each give up. Meanwhile, Roka is naturally cautious and tries to steer the questioning away, cordially at first and then more bluntly later.
Next up will be another couple Bonus Content posts featuring concept sketches of Illaryn Jayd. I did a LOT of sketches for her, including 24 costume ideas! You’ll be able to see all of those over on my Patreon.
Just a note, there will not be the usual Thursday post on Thanksgiving, since I will be having food coma right around then. The story will resume on November 30.
What a pleasant toast she offers; nothing threatening about it at all. 😉
Yes, I’m sure everything will be just…fine.
As they say, “No good deed goes unpunished… Or bad deed… Or neutral deed for that matter… Generally everything is going to get punished… RUN.”
Given everyone’s background surely several of the crew will be cautious now, right? Right??? 😉
