Unlike the crew of rogues in this story, where I plan to introduce them in a more gradual way, with the pilots, I opted for the big character dump of everyone at once. It’s not my favorite way to introduce new characters, but it worked here for the scene. But to help the characters stick, I tried to use their names as much as possible so readers could start to associate names with faces.
Even though they appear briefly, I still wanted to make each distinct and try to at least give some of them fun and/or memorable personalities.
A very inviting scene. The dump method works here.
A nice set of characters and this also feels like it could be their cameo in order to promote their own series.
Dur’dak and Yuuna remind me of Earl and Fran of the Dinosaurs TV series. Let’s hope their boss isn’t like Mr. Richfield.
I never actually watched the Dinosaurs show, but I just did a Google search on Earl and Fran. I can definitely see the resemblance between Dur’dak and Earl! I guess if I ever need an animatronic version of the character, I’ll know where to start!
