I think panel 1 is one of the first times I started playing with color holds, coloring some of the black line art with a color other than pure black (in this case, a lighter gray). I’m using this technique a lot more, especially in the new (and full-color!) Big Snow Job story arc, as I find it to be a nice subtle way of adding dimension. This panel particularly would have been a mess of foreground and background without it, but with the color hold, the background city gets pushed back, emphasizing the platform and hopper in the foreground much more clearly.
Ahh. I just got caught up to the most recent page. I am interested to find out what happens next.
I want more views of that courier that delivers the pod. It looks like a perfect model for a Verpine shuttle.
Sadly, I don’t have any additional views of that ship. That one fell into the category of “it shows up so little that I’ll just make it up when I get to drawing the page instead of actually spending any real time concepting it beforehand.” 🙂
Awww… I guess I will have to extrapolate the other views.
