I had a really hard time trying to settle on a composition for this opening panel of the fight. I kept trying shots of her in the thick of fighting multiple Zahari, but they all felt like shots I had already done before, either in the previous chapter or back in Chapter 3, where Jayd faced off against Roka and the crew back on the ship.
Once I thought about the profile shot from the side, that solved the problem. It immediately felt like an angle I hadn’t done before and I quite like how it turned out.
If we go back to how it would be if this was a monthly book I’d say a character having a change of heart in seven issues is a good time span. Especially how the story has been told.
Yay! That’s been a slight concern for me, so good to hear!
I’m not for censorship by any stretch, but I also don’t find gore all that appealing… so in short, I’m glad there aren’t spatters and sprays of blood everywhere. I hope I’m not speaking too soon and the next page is squirt city. I’m guessing Sky swoops in and maybe headbonks some fashionable tuskjaws.
Agreed. I like a good action sequence but I don’t care for a lot of unnecessary gore. There was a battle in Volume 2 between Bocce and a couple Kaagan-Vas that was a bit graphic, but that was more to really get across the idea of Bocce going a bit nuts. In general though, I think plenty of story can be told without the need for graphic violence.
