For the super attentive readers, the word “ceysula” may sound familiar. Way back in a scene from Volume 1, when Bocce is trying to come up with a name for Sky, he first suggests “ceysula,” which he says means “blue sky” where he comes from.

It was the first thing that came to mind when I read Ceysula.
That moment with Sky!
But we go from happy to sad, because it seems Bocce never found out how he really ended up there?
Yay!! It always amazes me when people pick up on little details like that! And sadly, Bocce does not get his answers today. But he will! He’ll have a number of shorter memory flashes like the ones to date, but the full story will take a good chunk of its own volume.
“Bocce… The truth is, your father was my brother’s friend’s former roommate… He had… unusual tastes in women… And…”
Bocce looks at his arm and has an inkling of a feeling of a half-baked concept of his origins.
“Yes, Bocce… Your mother was an emergency bulkhead seal… Search the McMaster-Carr catalog, pages 417 through 422 and you’ll know it to be true…”
“That can’t be! That’s impossible!”
“It’s true! He was very good at impregnating things!”
Somewhere out there in a parallel universe, there is a much more outright comedic version of RUNNERS. And I’d like to think this would be a scene it in. Ha ha!
